Term 1: Noughts and Crosses

Students develop their knowledge and understanding of non naturalistic drama techniques through practical exploration of the play Noughts and Crosses.

Students are assessed holistically across all AOs through their performance work, contributions to class discussions and peer and self assessment.

Students will practically explore key scenes from the play DNA by Dennis Kelly. They will learn about the conventions of naturalism and develop their acting skills in this style.

Term 4: DNA- Act 2

Students will practically explore key scenes from the play DNA by Dennis Kelly. They will learn about the conventions of naturalism and develop their acting skills in this style.

Students will explore how to use a range of stimuli as a starting point for creating drama. They will work in groups to use a range of skills to create an original piece.

Term 6: Blood Brothers

Students will practically explore key scenes from the play Blood Brothers by Willy Russell. They will learn about the conventions of epic theatre and develop their acting skills in this style.
