Physical Education Overview

Term 1: Socio-cultural influences

Students will learn about prohibited substances and methods including the type of performers likely to take performance enhancing drugs (PED’s) and the advantages/disadvantages. Students will learn about spectator behaviour with an in depth look at hooliganism.

Term 2: Performance analysis assessment

Students are required to analyse and evaluate a competitive performance in one activity from the specification - either their own or the performance of another person. Students must analyse two strengths and two weaknesses in the performance and then create an action plan to improve the two weaknesses.

This assessment is worth 25 marks (10% of overall grade)

Term 3: Revision of areas for improvement from Mock 1. Preparation for Mock 2.

Detailed personalised QLAs and class level QLAs carried out to determine areas for improvement from Mock 1.
